Shri Naina Devi Ji Temple: Shravan Ashtami Mela 2026

Shri Naina Devi Ji Temple is a holy shrine dedicated to Shri Maa Naina Devi Ji. It sits on top of a hill at 1,219 meters above sea level. Each year, during the month of Sawan or Shravan, the temple organizes the Shravan Ashtami Mela (fair). On this occasion, hundreds of thousands of devotees visit the temple to pay reverence to the Goddess. Many of these devotees walk the entire way. Some even walk barefoot from their homes.

Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra (VMRK) has offered services to devotees during the Shravan Ashtami Mela since 2023. This year, the mela will take place from August 13 to 23. The local administration has once again requested VMRK to provide medical and ambulance services.

VMRK is operating two medical camps around the clock starting August 13. The first camp, with ambulance services, is located about 1.5 kilometers from the temple. The second camp is in Ghanauli village, about 45 kilometers away from the temple. It is situated along one of the most frequently used pilgrim routes. These camps are staffed by a team of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and volunteers. They commonly see pilgrims arriving with body aches, dizziness, fever, and blisters from walking barefoot.
