Reporting for service at Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022
On June 30, 2022, two fully equipped ambulances departed VMRK headquarters in Nawan Nagar on a 12 hour journey to the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir in Srinagar. Driving through the night, the ambulances arrived at their destination the next day on July 1, 2022, ready to serve throughout the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. These ambulances were immediately assigned to the base camps at Baltal and Chandanwari. Later that same day, VRMK’s first team of doctors and paramedical staff arrived and reported to the Medical Director at the Baltal base camp.
The Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir appreciated the caliber of services offered by VMRK. Four days after the ambulances commenced service, the State Surveillance Unit at the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir requested VMRK to provide another fully equipped ambulance. The devotees of Lord Shiva from across the country are making their mountain trek through the hard grounds to reach Baba Amarnath Ji.
In this situation, Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra (VMRK) is thinking about the health of these devotees. As a result, it has sent a team of 48 members that includes doctors and para-medical staff to this difficult terrain. Currently, they are in service at the Baltal Base Camp from the very first day of the start of the pilgrimage.
In addition to this, VMRK has also arranged 3 ambulances, equipped with all the advanced lifesaving equipment, at the disposal of the Kashmir Directorate of Health. For the convenience of the pilgrims, these ambulances have been deployed in the base camps at Baltal, Chandanwari and Pantha Chowk in Srinagar.
Let us be aware that VMRK, established in the year 2005 has been on an undeterred journey to reach the goal of serving humanity. Now, during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra they are serving the devotees in collaboration with the Health Directorate of Kashmir.
The society established in village Nawan Nagar, District Panchkula, Haryana, has been conducting medical camps for years for the welfare of the society. Since 2014, it has also been providing services during the Kanwar Yatra. The society has 240 retreat centers across the country. Sant Baljit Singh Ji, the spiritual head of VMRK, motivated the society to serve the devotees visiting the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra that resumed this year, after a gap of two years.
The society had contacted the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Shri Pandurang K Pole IAS, for permission for offering this service.
