Current COVID-19 protocols for visitors

Please note the following has been introduced to protect everyone’s health and safety.

  • To visit our center you must adhere to the latest guidance issued by the state/central government.
  • Please do not visit our center when you have tested positive for Covid-19, or have any Covid-19 symptoms.
Staying at our retreat centers (manav kendras)

Resident Indians:
Resident Indians are welcome to avail our free accommodation facilities, subject to availability and compliance with Covid-19 medical guidelines.

If you wish to stay overnight at the center, please bring your proof of identity, such as aadhar card, driving license, or passport, along with the letter of recommendation from your local management team. On arrival, please contact the reception team to register your stay at the center.

Non-Resident Indians:
Non-Resident Indians are welcome to visit the centers in India for a day, subject to compliance with Covid-19 medical guidelines.

Foreigners:
Foreigners are not accommodated at our centers in India at this time.

Cancellation

We understand that circumstances beyond your control can change your travel plans, which may mean that you cannot stay with us when you had expected. The more advance notice you can give us, the better.  We thank you in advance for your understanding and consideration.

Daily schedule

At the center, everyone follows a daily schedule including meditation, selfless service (seva), and satsang (spiritual discourse and group meditation). You may choose from one of two schedules depending on how many hours of meditation you wish to do each day.

Free meals

We provide three simple, wholesome homemade vegetarian meals daily. 

Free accommodations

Reception will assign your accommodation according to the availability and the rules of the center.

Volunteer work

Volunteer work (social work), also called selfless service (seva), is one of the main aspects of the center. Visitors participate in a variety of tasks that provide opportunities to learn new skills, such as organic gardening, housekeeping, and wholesome vegetarian cooking.

If you have any limitations, please inform our onsite manager so that our teams can arrange tasks suited to your capabilities.

Photography, videography, and electronic devices

Photography and videography are prohibited at the center. Please don’t bring  laptops, personal cameras, video cameras, iPads, Kindles, or radios.

We encourage visitors to join us in preserving the peaceful and spiritual atmosphere at the center.

Relationships

We request that when you stay with us at the center, please respect the spiritual atmosphere of the center.

Spiritual retreat focus

We request that guests do not conduct worldly business or plan to make personal trips while staying with us. This will help you maintain your spiritual focus and give you maximum benefit and preserve the spiritual atmosphere at the center.

The closest bus stands are Baddi (3 km), Pinjore (16 km), Kalka (20 km), and Chandigarh, ISBT 43 (28 km).

The closest airport is in Chandigarh (42.8 km).

Weather

The summer season (April – June) is hot and sunny. Daytime maximum temperatures range from 34-40°C and minimum temperatures at night range from 21-27°C. May and June are the hottest month.

The monsoon season (July – September) is rainy and humid. August is the wettest month with the highest rainfall.

The winter season (December – February) is cold and dry. Daytime maximum temperatures range from 16-21°C and minimum temperatures at night range from 8-11°C. January is the coldest month.

In October, November and March, the weather remains pleasant and sometimes mildly cold. Daytime maximum temperatures range from 23-28°C and minimum temperatures at night range from 14-19°C.

Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra policies
  1. Tobacco smoking and use of alcohol or non-medicinal drugs are not permitted on the premises.
  2. Meat or meat products (including eggs) are not permitted on the premises.
  3. Firearms or other weapons are not permitted on the premises.
  4. Please dress modestly, in a way that shows respect for the traditional values of ethical life at the center.
  5. Please abstain from the use of perfumes, colognes, strongly scented toiletries, soaps, etc. during your stay, as some people are sensitive to strong scents.
  6. Donations can be made at the donation counter at headquarters and to the bank accounts of Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra. Online donations can be made through our website. We encourage donations through digital channels.
