Medical camps 2024
In 2024, Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra (VMRK) continued to actively serve humanity through its medical camp program that was inspired and established by Sant Baljit Singh Ji in 2012. Throughout 2024, VMRK organized more than 1,400 camps that were held weekly and during special events celebrated by VMRK. In addition, VMRK offered medical camps at multiple yatras (pilgrimages) throughout the year.
Weekly medical camps
This year, weekly medical camps were conducted at VMRK centers, as well as in slums and villages across the states of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra including its tribal area, and the union territory of Chandigarh. VMRK assigned volunteers to identify locations with mainly underprivileged households living far from primary healthcare centers. All these locations were situated within a radius of 130 kilometers from the VMRK center.
A few days before each medical camp, our volunteers informed the local residents about the upcoming camp to encourage them to avail the free medical services offered. Volunteers notified the local administration, made public announcements, and conducted door-to-door visits. On the day of the medical camp, volunteers cleaned the site and arranged the setup for the camp’s operation. During the camp, volunteers registered the patients and managed the patient queues. Concurrently, the medical team of doctors and pharmacists, provided free health checkups, consultations, first aid, and medicines. These camps generally ran from mid-morning till mid-afternoon until all patients had been attended to.
Thousands of patients received free medical care for conditions such as fungal infections, blood pressure, diabetes, anemia, vitamin deficiencies, tonsils, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Patients with severe health conditions were referred to the hospital for further diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, the medical team often educated the patients on the importance of hygiene and the need for regular health check-ups to address health issues proactively.
Many people, appreciative of the free medical assistance, often requested VMRK to organize more camps at their location. To keep up with their needs, we frequently organized medical camps at the same or nearby locations.
On March 3, 2024, VMRK through its Bhusawal center organized a free medical camp in Dasanur village. During the camp, experienced doctors, pharmacists, and nurses examined 211 patients and distributed free medicines. Through this organization, we also learned that they are conducting similar social work in various locations adhering to their principles. Until now, we have seen medical camps where only medical checkups are conducted, but in the medical camp organized by VMRK, along with the checkups, free medicines were also distributed. This is a very commendable work that your organization has been doing. On behalf of the residents of the village and the Dasanur Gram Panchayat, we express immense gratitude for the social initiatives organized by VMRK at various locations.

VMRK mobilized its services to provide a free medical check-up camp with a team of doctors, paramedical staff, pharmacists, nurses, and support staff, offering first aid services, medical consultations, and medicines to local area patients. We would like this opportunity to say special thanks to Sant Baljit Singh Ji for being the motivation and inspiration behind all these humanitarian services being undertaken by VMRK. Medical services during pilgrimages
VMRK organized medical camps to provide medical services to devotees who undertook pilgrimages. Many pilgrims visited the medical camps with injuries and health issues caused by the arduous nature of the pilgrimage trails. Since many pilgrimages took place during the monsoon season or across extremely cold, high-altitude routes, many pilgrims also sought care for symptoms such as cold, cough, and fever. A large number of pilgrims experienced breathlessness, headaches, and dizziness due to the thin air at high altitudes. A team of qualified doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and VMRK volunteers worked around the clock to serve these pilgrims. Pilgrims received free medical consultation, first aid, and medicines at these camps. VMRK also provided ambulance services during some of these pilgrimages. Here are summaries of the pilgrimage medical services offered by VMRK in 2024.
