Gearing up for Kinnaur Kailash Yatra 2025
Pilgrims on the Kinnaur Kailash Yatra traverse challenging mountain terrain through forests, meadows, and boulder-strewn stretches. They persevere until they reach the rock Shiva Lingam situated near the peak of the 6,050-meter-tall Kinnaur Kailash (mountain). Given the high elevation and the perilous path, it comes as no surprise that many pilgrims need medical attention. This year, Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra (VMRK) is providing assistance in two ways.
First, we have donated materials to the administration requested to assist in organizing the pilgrimage. The donated items include six 10-litre oxygen cylinders, one portable oxygen concentrator, and two foldable stretchers. Additionally, to assist the forest staff, participants of the Van Mitra tree-planting scheme, and the solid waste management team working along the route, VMRK donated a total of 99 pairs of trekking shoes. These shoes are water-resistant and offer enhanced grip, flexible soles, and ankle support to help the teams navigate the challenging terrain.
Secondly, VMRK is providing medical services at its camp, operational from July 17, 2025. The camp is located at Ganesh Park (Mailing Khatta), the nearest overnight stay point for pilgrims en route to Kinnaur Kailash. To address the continuous influx of pilgrims arriving at any time of day, the medical camp is operating around the clock, staffed by a medical team and volunteers.
A detailed update on the services offered will be shared shortly after the services conclude on August 30.
