Medical assistance at Shravan Ashtami Mela 2025
Shri Naina Devi Ji Temple, situated on top of a hill at 1,219 meters above sea level, is a holy shrine dedicated to Maa Naina Devi. Each year, during the month of Sawan or Shravan, the temple organizes the Shravan Ashtami Mela (fair). To celebrate this occasion, hundreds of thousands of devotees visit the temple to pay reverence to the Goddess. A significant number of these pilgrims complete the entire journey on foot, with some even walking barefoot from their homes.
Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra (VMRK) has offered services to pilgrims during the Shravan Ashtami Mela since 2023. This year, the mela will take place from July 25 to August 3, and the local administration has once again requested VMRK to provide medical and ambulance services. VMRK is operating two 24-hour operational medical camps and providing ambulance services. The first camp with ambulance services, is located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the temple. The second camp is at Ghanauli village, about 45 kilometers from the temple. This camp is offering pilgrims medical assistance along one of the most frequently used routes to the temple.
After Shravan Ashtami Mela 2025 concludes, this blog post will be updated to describe the services offered at Shri Naina Devi Ji Temple.
