Blood donation camps 2022-2023
Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra (VMRK) resumed the organization of blood donation camps in 2022, following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In that year, the camps were conducted at VMRK centers in the state of Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Subsequently, in 2023, the outreach was further extended to include the states of Maharashtra, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, camps were also organized in villages, expanding the initiative beyond the VMRK centers.
The blood donation camps were organized on multiple occasions throughout the year. Often, these were organized as part of the extensive charitable drive held alongside the special events celebrated at VMRK centers. These events include Guru Purnima, Navratri, and spiritual discourses. Since a large crowd of attendees gathered to celebrate these events, the outreach of the camps was extensive. Refer to the following blog posts that describe the blood donation camps organized during these occasions:
Charitable services at 2023 Autumn (Ashvin) Navratri Festival
Charitable services at Guru Purnima 2023
Charitable services at Spiritual Discourse May 2023, Nawan Nagar, Haryana
Charitable services at 2023 Spring (Chaitra) Navratri Festival
Humanitarian services in Humanitarian services in Nagpur, March 2023
Charitable services at VMRK Pimpalner, February 2023
Charitable services at Ashvin Navratri 2022
At each camp, the doctors performed basic screening of all the prospective donors to assess their eligibility to donate blood. After donating blood, donors were brought to the resting area where VMRK volunteers served refreshments to the donors.
Over the course of two years, 49 blood donation camps were organized in collaboration with the blood bank teams of the Indian Red Cross Society and various government hospitals. In total, 2,561 units i.e. 1,071 liters of blood were collected during these blood donation camps.
Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra organized a blood donation camp through its center in Chandrapur, thus helping to illuminate many lives with this invaluable gift of life. This precious contribution that we have received will be used to treat critically ill patients, including those undergoing complex and major surgeries, children suffering from anemia, individuals suffering from severe bleeding disorders, sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and various other conditions. With heartfelt gratitude, we are humbled to present this certificate to your organization in recognition of the selfless and noble contribution to the State Blood Transfusion Council and the beneficiaries of blood disorders.
