Food packs cooked fresh daily

Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra used its centers as approved facilities to cook and pack food packets. Each food packet weighed a hearty 650 grams and contained a nutritious meal of chapati, or puri, or grains e.g., pulao, khichadi, or rice, with sabji or daal.

The freshly cooked food was hygienically packed and sealed before delivery to distribution centers. Our volunteers worked alongside the local administration to distribute our donated cooked food packets. At the distribution locations, tables were set up in front and two lines were marked with ten white circles on the ground. The circles were at least 1.5 meters apart to adhere to the physical distancing guidelines issued by the local, state and central bodies.

People were asked to line up in the white circles. As each person stepped up to the table, a food packet was placed on the table for the person to take away. After they walked away from the table, the next person was invited to come forward and a new food packet was placed on the table for them.

As requested by the local administration, our volunteers distributed food packets at bus stands and railway stations, to the migrant laborers returning to their hometowns. Chana packets were also given to them for their travels.

Ration packets for families in need

Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra centers also prepared ration packets to donate to families in need. A typical ration packet weighed about 10 kg, and contained 5 kg atta, 1 kg daal, 3 kg rice, 1 kg salt, 500 ml mustard oil, and packets of spices, e.g., turmeric and chili. These rations were packed and sealed in strong, sturdy bags before delivery to distribution centers. Our volunteers worked alongside the local administration to distribute our donated ration packets.
